In Monopoli countryside, you will visit a farm and an Apulian oil factory; tasting, guided visit through the alleys of the old town of Monopoli, the Baroque Cathedral and the Charles V Castle.

Lunch-Tasting in a farm that produces dairy products, mozzarella, Apulian wine tasting

Guided tour of the Ortobotanic Garden Lama degli Ulivi, a paradise full of history and nature

Visit the famous Castel del Monte. In 1996 UNESCO acknowledged Castel del Monte as part of the World Cultural Heritage, due to the perfection of its unique shape as well as the profusion of elements from northern Europe, the Islamic world and classical antiquity.
An object of debate between historians and critics the world over, even today it remains one of the most mysterious castles ever constructed by Frederick II.

Visit to the characteristic historical centre of the city, demonstrative of an illustrious past; view the elegant Renaissance buildings present in the area.

One not to be missed is a quiet stroll though the Jewish area.

Visit the Svevo castle with its typical Frederician style, restored in the Argon period in order to protect it from the numerous enemy attacks, today it is a centre for a host of events (concerts, shows, round table events etc).

Visit the cathedral of San Nicola Pellegrino, one of the most beautiful in whole of Apulia, thanks to its perfect position near the sea. Visit the church of Rosario and of San Giovanni Battista.

The castle entrance fee (euro 3.00 adult, 18 – 24 euro 1.50, under 18s and over 65s free of charge).

One of the centres which dominates the green plains of the Valley of the Trulli. The dazzling white of the houses, the clear blue of the sky and the green of the olive groves and vineyards all work together to make this an unforgettable experience. The visit starts in the old part of town, renowned for its circular lay out, characterised by the pointed roofs (cummerse) of the houses there in. A visit to the neo-classical Mother Church of "San Giorgio Martire" follows, which was built between 1769 and 1821, and to the church of the "Madonna del Soccorso".

The wonderful White City.
First of all, there is a moment for taking photographs of the breathtaking scenery. Enjoy a stroll along the bastioned towers which herald the entrance to the town, before viewing the town and the obelisk of S. Oronzo. Next follows a visit to the Medieval area of the town with the numerous alleyways and side streets which are characterised by the sparkling whiteness of the houses. Visit the late gothic style cathedral of Assunta.

The elegant Baroque city which is the base of the famous Festival of the Itria Valley. The itinerary begins with a visit to the old part of town where some fine examples of the baroque style can be viewed – the most interesting of which is represented by the Ducal palace (built, on the site of an ancient castle, by one of the most influential families of Martina). Of outstanding beauty is the fountain of ‘Delfini’ and the elegant buildings of the rich with their portals and wrought iron ‘loggette’. Visit the ‘Collegiata’ of St Martino, where can admire the altars of polychromatic marble as well as a splendid canvas depicting the last supper.

The guided tour starts in the old part of town which is rich in elegant buildings and marvellous Baroque churches. In the central square of St. Oronzo one can find the archaeological remains of a Roman amphitheatre.
A visit to the church, Santa Croce, which dates back to 1549 is an excellent example of the Baroque style still found in Lecce. Visit to the Piazza Duomo where one can view the majestic five sided belfry (1661-82), the Cathedral of Assunta, the Bishop’s Palace (1420 –28) and the seminary. Visit to the churches of Rosario or to that of San Giovanni Battista.

Stop off at Otranto
Blue flag award: Otranto offers one of the cleanest seas in the whole of Italy. ‘Porta d’Oriente’ renown for the Turkish invasions.
The itinerary includes: the castle of Aragon reconstruction, the Roman-Baroque cathedral of Annunziata with its extraordinary mosaic paving (one of the most beautiful in the world), the chapel of martyrs, in which are held the remains of the soldiers who died during the Turkish invasions of 1481.

Heading for via Ridola: a wonderful view of the church front of the marvellous San Francesco d'Assisi. A walk through the Sasso Barisano (antique area of Matera, partly inhabited and partly undergoing reconstruction).
Passing under the stone archway one arrives in the area surrounding the Roman cathedral of the Madonna della Bruno (1270 a.d.).
Explanations and eventual visits to the internal portion are available where one can view the famous frescoes, a marvellous column, the nativity scene situated on the left transept as well as an extraordinary ‘ligneo’ choir.
After the visit, one may stroll though Sassi Barisano until one reaches the famous flight of steps.

Arrival in piazza San Pietro Caveoso, beautiful, thanks to it Byzantine church as well as a breathtaking view of the gravines.
Heading further outwards the Sasso Caveoso (the most ancient area of Matera, now abandoned but currently being restored).
After one arrives at "Casa Grotta" (non obligatory entrance fee - euro 1,50), one of last houses to be inhabited in the Sasso Caveoso, where one can see how life was (not too long ago) in this incredible homestead.
After the visit, head towards "Madonna de Idris", one of the most famous and most visited Rupestrian churches in the whole of Matera (non obligatory entrance). Lastly, a pleasant stroll towards Pascoli Square.
